Join LEAD International’s Director of Global Training, Steve Collins, to explore what is needed to “Communicate with Impact.”  Steve has spent the last thirty years focusing on leadership and business development in a variety of global locations. He spent 8 years in China as a Foreign Expert and Regional Director for a US based consulting company and then 16 years in the Middle East leading a business development and consulting company. Currently based in the US, he supports LEAD’s affiliates and clients to develop their current and future leaders.









Effective communication takes place through a variety of mediums and an almost infinite number of audiences.  In this course, we will examine the communication process in many environments, including informal office dialogues and more formal presentations.   Each of our best practices will highlight the communication process from the audience’s perspective and the challenges of getting our message heard in an environment suffering from information overload.  We will also explore how our communication styles and preference can create problems and how to broaden our range of communication approaches.  





By the end of the course, you should be able to:


  • Construct messages that impact the audience on both an intellectual and emotional level
  • Enhance interpersonal communication through asking better questions, listening attentively, and demonstrating empathy
  • Design and deliver presentations to a variety of audiences
  • Customize your communication approaches to reflect your audiences' needs and preferences
  • Develop an action plan to develop your communication skills

Videos and articles enable participants to engage concepts and practices at their preferred pace and in manageable chunks.




Assignments and Reflection

Reaching your leadership potential requires much more than just gaining knowledge about leadership. Participants will be challenged to think deeply about their own experiences and immediately apply what they are learning.

Individual Coaching

Participants will receive a coaching session at the completion of the course to share what they are learning and develop action plans.
