What Matters Most in Leadership
In this course we will explore five core leadership habits from Mark Miller’s best selling book, The Heart of Leadership. These habits enable a leader to attract and develop followers. Each habit challenges the leader to understand their purpose and to identify the most important character qualities in serving others.
This course is for:
- First time leaders or emerging leaders
- Organizational leaders wanting to emphasize character-based leadership and develop a common framework and vocabulary
- Leaders looking to assess their leadership approaches and to develop an action plan for growth
By the end of this course you should be able to :
- Identify behaviors that demonstrate how to “think others first”
- Understand how your behaviors and attitudes influence those you lead
- Demonstrate leadership practices that reflect how you can serve in a variety of situations
- Determine your strengths and weaknesses for each habit and develop an action plan to improve your leadership skills
Principles and Best Practices
Steve Collins, LEAD's Director of Global Training, guides participants through the HEART of Leadership Model. Videos and articles enable participants to engage concepts and practices at their preferred pace and in manageable chunks.
Reflection and Assignments
Reaching your leadership potential requires much more than just gaining knowledge about leadership. Participants will be challenged to think deeply about their own experiences and immediately apply what they are learning.
Individual Coaching
Participants will receive a coaching session at the completion of the course to share what they are learning and develop action plans.
